Building BA processes in IT projects

We’ll talk about how to start building BA processes and help you understand how to define the scope of responsibilities, goals, and tasks of a BA, as well as a Delivery methodology. We will also consider what obstacles may arise within the company, learn how to take the client’s environment into account when building the BA process, and understand how to build the process inside the project step by step (as part of the team and from the Team Lead position):
Project type and phase analysis;
Communication with the team and the customer;
Information management (artifacts, wiki);
Requirement lifecycle management.

Workshop on communication with stakeholders

We will figure out how to identify your stakeholders and why you can’t build a successful project without them. We’ll learn to identify all stakeholders on time, create a Stakeholder List, Map, or Personas together, and understand how a BA can prepare for communication on a new or existing project:
What documents to prepare for work organization;
How to manage communication in case of external changes;
How to work with multiple stakeholders;
The subtleties of working with stakeholders on multinational projects.
We will analyze the stakeholders and learn the best ways of communicating with them in different circumstances.

Workshop on requirements documentation techniques

We will find out what can affect the format of creating requirements and how to manage it. We will work with the following influencing factors:
Type of project or product;
Stakeholders;
Approach to work volume decomposition;
Additional external and internal dependencies.
Using practical examples, we will go over writing functional requirements step by step:
Drafting Vision and Scope documents;

Working with non-functional requirements

We will help you to make apart non-functional requirements. We will teach you to as the customer the right questions and conduct an interview to identify non-functional requirements. We’ll consider what aspects should be taken into account when determining non-functional requirements and transforming the customer’s desires into different types of requirements for documentation writing.
During the workshop, we will practice identifying non-functional requirements even in the most complex, marginal cases and will analyze common difficulties.

Workshop on preparing a ready-made solution for the customer

We will practice to conduct customer interviews, identify requirements and document them, and prepare a business solution that accounts for competitors, market trends, potential costs, and the bottom line.
Using real cases, we will:
Analyze the market and competitors;
Identify the Personality Types and Use Cases;
Build a User Journey Map;
Come up with questions for the interview;
Interview stakeholders;
Compile a Roadmap;
Shape an MVP and prioritize the backlog.

Workshop on Business Process Modeling

We will analyze when one needs modeling on a project and consider what criteria exist for using models.
We will practice creating:
Sequence diagram;
ERD/UML Class;
BPMN/Activity/Process diagrams;
State machine;
Use Case diagram.
In addition, we’ll consider the best practices and conditions of using each diagram (notation).

How to Work with the Discovery Phase

Learning to deal with Discovery Phase and its significance. We’ll work with one of the possible templates of the Vision and Scope document that a BA prepares after the Discovery Phase.
